Our mission - preserve montana's tech
At Tallon Tech, we keep tech in Montana by repairing, fabricating, managing data securely, and recovering materials responsibly. We started by saving a respected local electronics repair business from being liquidated or closing completely. We brought together its tools, inventory, and systems to create a shop dedicated to repair, fabrication, and reuse.
We aim to facilitate a new lifecycle for electronics in Montana by:
> Keeping electronics in Montana, not shipped out of state for profit <
> Keeping customer data secure through transparent practices <
> Keeping electronic waste out of landfills whenever possible <

we don't just repair electronics
3D Printing +
creative reuse
custom projects
We design and build custom projects using salvaged electronics and reclaimed materials whenever possible. This includes functional builds, repair-based fabrication, and creative reuse of components recovered from non-repairable devices. Instead of discarding usable parts, we repurpose them into new projects, tools, or one-off creative builds.
fabrication & part replacement
Sometimes the part you need is no longer available. We use 3D printing and reclaimed components to fabricate replacement brackets, mounts, structural pieces, and specialty hardware for electronics that would otherwise be retired. This extends device lifespans and reduces unnecessary waste.
creative re-use
Not every device can be repaired, but many contain usable components. We salvage functional boards, connectors, and hardware to support future repairs and creative builds. This reduces supply chain dependency and keeps viable electronics and their components in circulation. Less landfill. More electronics in circulation.

continuing the legacy
Tallon tech & Big Sky VCR
Frank Rooney built Big Sky VCR through decades of craftsmanship and resilience. He laid the groundwork with hands-on repair, deep technical expertise, and a fearless willingness to tackle the toughest jobs. We honor that legacy.
When Big Sky VCR faced liquidation, we saw more than a business at stake. We saw decades of hard-earned knowledge, essential tools, irreplaceable inventory, and the trust of a community at risk of being lost or discarded.
For nearly a year, we poured our energy into organizing a space overflowing with history, taking special care to save every piece we could.
This transition isn’t about replacing the past, it's about honoring it, modernizing it, and creating something resilient enough to serve the next generation.
